Nestled in the heart of the wilderness, just 30 km from the famous medieval city of Carcassonne, our Holiday cottage is a haven of peace. Located in the heart of the countryside, it's the ideal base for lovers of the great outdoors. Whether you're an avid hiker, mountain biker or simply looking for a place to recharge your batteries, you'll find a peaceful, authentic atmosphere here, with a private outdoor space for relaxing in the heart of nature, ping-pong table, new private swimming pool (2026) secured by a standard cover. Good to know: you also have access to the hamlet swimming pool (12x7) 50 m from the gîte, which is open in summer, rarely used and reserved for guests. Cuxac-Cabardès is ideally situated for exploring the treasures of the Cathar countryside by car, bike, horseback or hiking through the magnificent natural landscapes of the Mountain Noire. Visit the Châteaux de Lastours, offering spectacular views over the valley. A little further afield, explore the majestic Cité de Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The impressive Mazamet footbridge is also a must-see. The Brousses paper mill offers an insight into traditional crafts. Shops (restaurant, bakery, grocery store) are located in the heart of the village, 2km away. A tennis court is available in the village, and for riders or future riders, the La Goutarende equestrian center is a 2-minute walk away. Set amidst meadows and forests, this charming Holiday cottage comprises an apartment in a large late 19th-century building, with completely independent, private access. It is fully air-conditioned.
