Situated right in the center, the historic town center is easy to explore on foot. The Place de la République, with its arcades and cafés, is ideal for enjoying the local atmosphere over a glass of Blanquette. Limoux is renowned for its cultural heritage and festive traditions. The Carnival, one of the longest in the world, enlivens the City from January to March with colorful parades and traditional music. On Friday mornings, the Market livens up the narrow streets with typical local produce. Walks along the banks of the River Aude round off the visit.

Nearby, the medieval city of Carcassonne (25 minutes away) is a must-see, as are the abbey of Saint-Hilaire and the mysterious Rennes-le-Château. Nature lovers will appreciate the surrounding natural landscapes. Last but not least, the many vineyards around Limoux offer the chance to discover local wines in a peaceful, green setting.
