La Calade

In Douzens, in the heart of the Carcassonnais region, La Calade welcomes you to a quiet house full of character, ideal for couples, families or cyclists, close to the Canal du Midi.

Located in the village of Douzens, La Calade enjoys a prime location in the heart of the Carcassonne region. Just 2 km from the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you’ll find the perfect setting for peaceful walks or bike rides. The medieval city of Carcassonne, the region’s iconic landmark, is easily accessible and invites you to immerse yourself in history. Further south, the Alaric trails offer beautiful walks through the garrigue with panoramic views of the Corbières, while the Abbey of Lagrasse—a village of character recognized as one of the most beautiful in France—provides a delightful complement to your cultural explorations. With its blend of heritage, nature, and the art of living, the region is ideal for both active vacations and relaxing getaways.
La Calade bed and breakfast is located in a house shared with the owners, who live on-site and ensure you receive a warm welcome while respecting your privacy. The atmosphere is traditional and rustic, in a quiet setting perfect for resting after your days of exploration.
On the ground floor, you’ll find a separate kitchen available for guests’ use. It’s equipped with an oven, a refrigerator, a kettle, and an espresso machine, allowing you to prepare your own meals. A living area with a television completes this level and provides a pleasant place to relax or enjoy time together.
Upstairs, three comfortable bedrooms can accommodate up to 6 people:

The Red Bedroom, located on the first floor, measures approximately 20 m² and features a 160x200 bed. It has a private bathroom with a bathtub, shower, and toilet, and is air-conditioned.
Blue Room, located on the first floor, measures approximately 20 m² and features a 160x200 bed, a private bathroom, and a toilet.
Gray Room, located on the first floor, measures approximately 15 m² and features a 140x190 bed. The private shower room and toilet are located on the landing, just outside the room.

Outside, you can enjoy a shared, enclosed garden equipped with outdoor furniture and a grill available for use, as well as a shaded patio, perfect for dining on sunny days. Private or public parking is available upon request. Cyclists and bikers will appreciate the option to store their bikes and motorcycles in the garage.
