In the village of Embres-et-Castelmaure, this historic sheepfold has retained its authentic character. Here, there are no unnecessary frills: the patina of time, the thick walls, and the natural coolness tell a simple, authentic story. It’s a refuge for those seeking to slow down, listen to the wind sweeping through the hills, and savor a respite from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Lovers of nature and the great outdoors will be delighted. Hiking trails wind through the wild landscapes of the Corbières, amid fragrant garrigue and sweeping vistas. Wine enthusiasts can explore local vineyards and discover the region’s signature appellations. For a touch of history, the majestic Cathar castles—such as Château de Quéribus and Château de Peyrepertuse—stand watch from the ridges, inviting you on timeless escapades.
Ideally located, the sheepfold is about 35 km from Narbonne, 50 km from Carcassonne, and 45 km from the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea.

La Bergerie offers the following on the garden level:
_A large living room with a fireplace (firewood included), dining area, and fully equipped open kitchen (gas stove, oven, traditional coffee maker + Senseo), a living area opening onto a patio with a garden table,
_A bedroom with a 160-bed,
_A bathroom with a walk-in shower, double sinks, and a toilet.

Upstairs:
_A bedroom with two 90-cm beds that can be pushed together,
_A bedroom with a 160-cm bed and a baby bed,
_One bedroom with two 90-cm beds,

_A separate toilet,

Wine cellar available in the holiday cottage with wines from the Corbières region (additional charge to be paid on site)

Outside:
_In front of the house, a courtyard with patio furniture,
_From the living room, a shaded and furnished patio opening onto the enclosed Mediterranean garden, with patio furniture and a covered barbecue.

Electric heating available for an additional flat fee of 65€ per week or 30€ per weekend, payable directly to the owner.
