In a peaceful natural setting, between forests and hills, Chez Marie invites you into a warm and sincere atmosphere, where you can rediscover the pleasure of simple things.

Nestled in the heart of a pristine natural setting at an altitude of 700 m, Chez Marie welcomes you for a stay focused on simplicity and rejuvenation. Here, the atmosphere is warm and authentic, like a family home where you immediately feel at ease. Time seems to slow down, making way for life’s simple pleasures: enjoying the peace and quiet, the fresh air, and the southern sunshine.

From Lacombe, in the Montagne Noire region of the Aude department, you can easily explore a multitude of iconic sites. Lovers of scenic drives—especially on a motorcycle—will appreciate the rolling landscapes and winding roads that meander through forests and panoramic views. Nearby, the “village of books” Montolieu invites you to stroll through its charming narrow streets and unique bookstores. A little further on, the Alzeau intake—the birthplace of the Canal du Midi—reveals a refreshing waterfall in the heart of nature. You simply can’t stay here without visiting the famous Cité de Carcassonne, impressive for its ramparts and history, or exploring the Castles of Lastours or the Château de Saissac, which bear witness to a fascinating past. The surrounding area is also perfect for hiking or biking through varied and serene landscapes. In the hamlet, a farm offers the chance to meet the animals and sample local products, adding a lively and gourmet touch to your stay. Swimming at the Laprade and Mountain lakes (recreation area equipped with inflatable games, mini-golf, a tree-top adventure course, etc.)

The holiday cottage, semi-detached to the owners’ home, has been designed to offer comfort and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It features:
_An entrance through the living room, featuring a sitting area with a 140-size Rapido sofa (slatted and particularly comfortable), a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen (2-burner glass-ceramic stove, dishwasher, top-mounted refrigerator, combination microwave, and traditional coffee maker),
_A bathroom with a walk-in shower and toilet,
_A bedroom with 90-bed bunk beds,

Outside, in front of the living room, is a private south-facing terrace with garden furniture, a barbecue, and a pleasant view of the garden and the Pyrenees.
The large garden is shared with the owners, but a separate entrance, parking space, and garage are available for your use.

Committed to environmental sustainability, the house is equipped with solar-heated hot water, a wood pellet boiler, and a rainwater harvesting system for the garden.
Access to a shared washing machine is available.
