The Domaine de Montengrand has an ideal location on the border between the Ariège and Aude departments, making it the perfect base for exploring the treasures of Languedoc and Midi-Pyrénées. The landscape, typically southern and rural, consists of gently sloping wooded hills, with the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees as a backdrop to the south. It’s a bucolic, countryside setting perfect for vacations with friends or family—especially with the many play areas reserved for kids.
The region is steeped in history: Cathar castles are everywhere, and the incredible Cité de Carcassonne is just a 40-minute drive away. It’s also a paradise for hikers and cyclists, and a large lake perfect for swimming is right nearby. The Corbières Vineyards are close by, while the Mediterranean beaches are just an hour and a quarter away.

A holiday cottage attached on one side only, located at the far end of the main building of the “Domaine de Montengrand,” which includes four holiday cottages and the owners’ apartment. The 12-hectare estate features numerous shared amenities, including a heated Piscine (14 x 7.5 m / depth 0.55 cm to 2 m) (May through September), a pool house with a summer kitchen and tables, summer lounge, a sun deck with lounge chairs, a gathering/dining room with a pizza oven, French billiards, darts, a petting zoo (Shetland ponies, sheep, etc.), a fire pit, a playground, and parking. Entrance from the back of the holiday cottage (3 steps) or from the terrace (ground level). Private covered terrace in front of La Bargerie with a barbecue and a garden table with chairs. Ground floor: Living room with kitchenette, living area (wood-burning stove). First floor: Bathroom with toilet, 1 bedroom for 2 people (2 single bunk beds), 1 bedroom for 2 people (2 single beds), 1 bedroom for 2 people (1 bed measuring 2 meters x 2), sitting area, private bathroom with toilet attached to the bedroom. . Sheets, towels, table linens, and Housekeeping are included in the price. Electric heating available at an additional charge from November 1 through May 15. Baby equipment (high chair, baby bed, bathtub, potty, safety gates, etc.). For an additional fee: evening entertainment, small shop selling farm products, delivery of various items (bread, pastries, etc.).
