The Le Pene de Beon holiday cottage is a detached house ideal for a stay with family or friends.
Located in the heart of the small village of Aste-Béon, in the Ossau Valley, you’ll discover the pastoral life of the Béarn Pyrenees (sheep’s milk cheeses).
This village is known for its “vulture cliff,” right next to the holiday cottage.
You’ll be able to spot griffon vultures, Egyptian vultures, bearded vultures, and other birds of prey—don’t forget your binoculars!
The house is unique, built on several levels, which gives it its charm and character.
A lovely surprise awaits you: the hidden garden at the back of the house, a pleasant, tree-lined space where you can relax and enjoy al fresco dining on sunny days.
Numerous marked hiking trails start from the holiday cottage (including a route to Santiago de Compostela), with loops of varying difficulty levels to suit everyone.

On the ground floor:
- Fully equipped kitchen (gas stovetop, electric oven, microwave, 8-place setting dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, air fryer, raclette and fondue sets, filter coffee maker and pod coffee machine)
- Dining area facing the garden
- Dining room/living room (TV, Orange Fiber internet box, wood-burning stove, Bluetooth speaker)
- Separate restroom (washer, dryer)

First Floor:
- 1 sleeping area on a mezzanine above the kitchen (steep, secure staircase) with a 90-cm bed, shower, and sink.
Another staircase leads from the living room to the rest of the bedrooms:
- 1 spacious bedroom opening onto a covered balcony with a nice view (1 Bed 160 x 200).
- Bathroom/toilet. Reading nook on the landing.

Second Floor:
- 1 bedroom (1 Bed 140 x 190).
- 1 sleeping area adjoining this bedroom with 2 90 x 190 beds. Play area.

Electric heating at an additional cost (based on meter reading). Firewood (30 cm logs) not provided for the stove (available for purchase at the Laruns supermarket, 4 km away). 2 fans. Some windows are equipped with screens (you’re in the Mountain with sheep nearby).
Bed linen and towels not provided. The agent in charge of check-in can rent them to you: 10 euros per person for a set of sheets and towels—please specify this when you contact us before your stay.
Private enclosed backyard of 350 m², patio furniture, barbecue, and lounge chairs.
Cleaning deposit of 150 euros to be paid upon arrival (no credit card deposit). Cleaning package available for a stress-free departure.
Enclosed courtyard secured by a gate. Storage shed for your skis, boots, bikes, and other equipment.
1 private parking space in the courtyard. Numerous free parking spots all around the holiday cottage. Electric vehicle charging station in Laruns, 4 km away.
Close to the National Park and the Gourette and Artouste ski resorts (shuttle buses available in winter).
