Le Colombier

At the gateway to the Périgord and Quercy regions, between Bordeaux and Toulouse, the Gîte du Colombier is nestled in a secluded green setting. Housed in a tastefully restored former dovecote, the gîte is ideal for couples or small families. Completely independent (Michelle and Vincent's house is right next door), and surrounded at the back by cultivated fields and umbrella pines, Le Colombier stretches over several levels. A small staircase leads up to the wooden terrace on the ground floor of the dovecote. It opens onto the gîte's kitchen and dining area. A small step leads to the living room with its sofa bed (1 double bed) and TV, to the shower room and separate toilet. A wooden staircase takes you to the 1st floor of the pigeonnier, with its bedroom (1x140) and private terrace (lounge) ideal for long evenings of reading in front of the umbrella pines. You can admire the small pond below, with its luxuriant vegetation and the song of the frogs. A second wooden staircase leads up from the bedroom to the 2nd floor, with its toilet area (washbasin on cabinet) and storage space. Bed linen and towels included, beds made. End-of-stay cleaning on request. Wifi free of charge. Tourist tax. Numerous hiking trails in the vicinity and a vast network of small roads ideal for bike rides to discover manor houses, castles and small churches nestled in the greenery. The gîte is less than 20 minutes from the bastide towns of Villeréal, Castillonnes, Monflanquin and Issigeac. Lively markets are held throughout the week in these villages. A wide range of shows and concerts throughout the summer.
