LesleyAndGavin Lovely gite with beautiful pool
Lovely detached stone property with beautiful pool in the countryside. We had a fab stay as a couple, so just used the downstairs of the property (there are more beds upstairs).
Pool area is excellent. There's another property nextdoor, but the layout means that the pool feels open but also private. We were the first guests since the pool was completed, and it's just so nice, especially on a hot afternoon. Pool is not shared and owners do not live close by, however, they did visit most days as they were still getting used to the pool / testing the chemicals / checking the machinery (this did become a little annoying as we had arranged for a massage which we hoped to have by the pool, but the owner and a plumber turned up at the same time, so we had to retreat indoors).
Outside there's a table and chairs on the patio by the main kitchen, and another dining space in the semi open outdoor kitchen by the pool. There's a double hob, gas barbecue, sink and fridge out there too. Garden is small, and currently just a bit scrubby - fine for us but kids might miss having grass to run around on.
Main kitchen well equipped. Filter papers and a bag of coffee for the coffee machines supplied, but not much else so bring cooking basics. Cleaning products were supplied, but no dish washer tablets that we could find; again, bring your own.
There's no AC, and we did find that it got too hot indoors on a couple of the nights. A couple of fans would be good (too many biting bugs at night to risk leaving windows open).
Whole area was having some sort of internet outage when we visited so can't comment on the wi-fi, but able to receive 5G on our phones so wasn't an issue.
Communication with owners was good - they don't speak English, but we got by with our dodgy French and Google translate. Thank you - we had a great week.
