Like a long barge moored at the water's edge, the gîte has been renovated in keeping with the original materials. Its large windows offer a breathtaking view of the river, its immediate vegetation and the wildlife that occupies it. On the banks of the Glane, in the heart of a totally private, wild, natural area of around 2500 m², where a mill once operated. Each room on the first floor is a veritable hanging balcony: a natural spectacle guaranteed! Gite qualified in ecogestures and biodiversity.
Festive receptions are not permitted.
An optional 40 m² relaxation area is available for private use, at a cost of €65 to €95/day (sliding scale according to the number of days required, to be agreed with the owner).
First floor: an inviting patio leads to the large living room with pellet stove, then to the kitchen with dining area. Both rooms open onto a 50 m² terrace bordered by the river. One bedroom (2 single beds) has a private shower room. Separate WC. Upstairs: 4 bedrooms, 2 of which have private bathrooms (shower, washbasin and toilet). Two are equipped with a 160 cm double bed, one with 2 90 cm single beds, and one with a bunk bed and a single bed. Bathroom, separate toilet. On the landing, a reading corner and office area. Electric heating. Washing machine and dryer are located in a laundry area close to the building. Private parking. Nearby, in a small renovated building with a panoramic view of the river, a relaxation area with a SPA for 5 people and an infrared sauna for 4 people is available as an option.

- 30 kWh electricity/night

- Access to the Spa (€65 to €95/day, sliding scale depending on the number of days booked, payable on site).
- A deposit is required on arrival at the latest, preferably by bank transfer (free of charge). The deposit is returned 96 hours after the inventory of fixtures and fittings has been made and the property cleaned.

Les nordistes Excellent gîte !
Gîte situé dans un vaste espace naturel agréable, particulièrement au calme mais à quelques centaines de mètres seulement du coeur du bourg et de ses commerces.
La rénovation des bâtiments est de qualité et le gîte est très bien équipé, propre et spacieux.
L'accueil des propriétaires est parfait.
Au final , nous avons passé une excellente semaine de vacances dans cet hébergement que nous recommandons sans réserve.- Cleanliness

Bromley Family This Gite is a gem.
What a gem!
Staying at this spacious Gite was perfect for our family break (6 adults, 2 children and a baby).
The Gite is beautiful, tastefully furnished, well appointed with full and complete facilities to meet all your needs. We appreciated the outside space close to the river, the decking space, BBQ area, laundry room and grounds all available to us.
We would recommend that visitors take advantage of the relaxation and spa area which was so worth the additional charge. We booked this for 4 of our 7 days here and it was good to be able to use it before we ventured out and when we came back each day.The communication from the owners was good, both were accommodating and friendly at the check in and check out meetings. Simon had translated instructions from French to English for us and this was greatly appreciated.
The Gite is situated in a peaceful location, close to nature with some village facilities close by. A short walk up the lane to a local park and playground. We also noted a small weekly food market in Saint Gence (although we did not attend).
We recommend the local boulangerie at Nieul and found there are many supermarkets available around 15-20 minutes drive.
The area of Haute Vienne was beautiful. As it was out of summer season when we visited was not busy nor crowded at all.
We visited local walks in Parc du Chateau De Nieul and would recommend Saint Pardoux le Lac where we enjoyed the beach areas, the food, hired bikes and water sport activities. We also visited Aixe-sur-Vienne where we picnicked by the river followed by a visit to Maison de la Porcelaine.Limoges city was a good place to visit to see sights, shops, food and to socialise. A beautiful city with open areas which had a relaxed and friendly vibe. So much to see and do, a reason to come back...
The airport was a short 10 minute drive, ideal for easy transfers to/from the Gite. It is a small airport, we never heard any aircraft noise at all.
