Located in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, around 35 kilometers from Bordeaux, the Chapelle Saint Cricq self-catering cottage opens its doors to you for an extraordinary stay. Housed in one of the towers of a former 16th-century fortified château, this gîte will appeal to lovers of old stone and its authentic, atypical character. The first floor comprises a large bedroom with a double bed (140cm), which was once a chapel. An ancient stone staircase leads to the second floor, where you'll find the living room with its fully-equipped kitchen, dining area and chaise longue. On this level, you'll have access to an overhanging terrace with garden furniture. On the second and last level, you'll find the second bedroom, with its round bed and luminous bathtub, from which you can admire the tower's magnificent framework (access to the bedroom via a Japanese staircase). Small shower room with toilet in the tower on the first level. The gîte has a private garden with terrace, garden furniture and lounge, and a private semi-underground swimming pool. Each floor has its own TV. Bed linen and towels included in the price. Electric heating. Tourist tax extra. A second gîte on the property.

Brilliant! It's a castle!
5/5It really is a little castle! Tastefully decorated, lovely little terrace, not too far from civilisation and all equipment needed. The only downside is the stairs - both up to the tower and down to the bedroom. Lots of chateaux to visit nearby. We took some extra chairs with us as the only comfy seating is a chaise longue. We had a really great time!

4/5We really enjoyed our stay. In hindsight the stairs were not a good idea for me. There was a lovely chaise longue in the sitting area but only suitable for one person so a sofa would have been perfect. It was very quiet and peaceful and in such a lovely area. Nathalie was away but her sister Catherine gave us a warm welcome.
