In this cottage lived a couple of farmers, and we found these people to be benevolent; when we had ourselves built in what was then the barn, we used to say of this cottage: "I'm going to see the Mary". Even the "red-tailed" birds came to nest here every year, and we realized that they had taken possession of the place, much to our delight. "Chez la Marie" has become a very pleasant gîte in the heart of Périgord. The thick-walled stone and brick buildings combine the charm of the past with modern comforts.
Numerous tourist sites nearby (Sarlat, a medieval city with an exceptional heritage; Montignac, Lascaux 4 International Center of Cave Art and prehistoric sites in the Vézère Valley; Périgueux, a city of Art and History; Château de Beynac, Castelnaud, Hautefort...) and marked hiking trails.

500 m from the village of St Pierre de Chignac (Boulangerie-pâtisserie, boucheries, supermarket, tabac presse, post office, Pharmacy, medical center and Saturday morning Market) and 15 km from Périgueux, 69 m2 detached house close to the owners.
