Sornac is an ideal starting point for a wide range of Hiking and cycling trails through the magnificent panoramas of the Plateau de Millevaches, its forests, peat bogs and lakes.
Take advantage of the Etang des Chaux beach for relaxing and family picnics, a leisure park (city-stadium, table tennis, table soccer, Kids' games) and numerous summer activities. Fishing at Lake des Chaux runs from April to late October.

This group of 8 Holiday cottages is located 800m from the village of Sornac and comprises: *5 Semi-detached houses: apartments with separate entrances, set in a renovated farmhouse on the edge of a lake with a shared, unenclosed plot of land (approx. 7,000 m2) *3 Holiday cottages: detached houses located within the campsite and the Lake des Chaux on an unenclosed plot of land with a magnificent view over the surrounding countryside. Terraces with wooden tables and benches. Free baby equipment on reservation. Pets allowed under the owner's responsibility, with respect for the gite and other residents. Optional cleaning 75€/stay and per gite, i.e. 600€ for all gites "if you don't take the cleaning package, a 600€ deposit will be required on arrival." Clause given on this deposit cheque: the cleaning deposit cheque will be kept and destroyed once the gites have been checked. For indoor group meals: possibility of renting the multi-purpose hall from the town hall.
