In the heart of the village of Verteuil sur Charente, a small town full of character, this 14th-century dwelling will seduce you with its heritage cachet and the view from the garden of the Château de Verteuil. Period fireplaces, spiral staircase, mullioned windows and authentic materials. The Logis is located close to a restaurant. Period stone staircases and low walls on the outside and in the garden (not suitable for young children or the elderly).
First floor: entrance hall, kitchen, living room with dining area, piano and 14th-century fireplace (floor in "cœurs de demoiselles"), TV room, reading room, wc. Access to upper floors via a period spiral staircase.
1st floor: bedroom with 160cm bed and 15m² private terrace, bedroom with 160cm bed, bedroom with 140cm bed, bathroom with bath, shower and wc.
2nd floor: bedroom with 160cm bed, bedroom with 3 90cm beds, billiard table, bathroom with shower and toilet. Access to garden via outbuilding or old stone staircase.
Outside: 225 m² private enclosed garden with private, unheated, in-ground, alarmed swimming pool (open from mid-May to mid-September, dimensions: 5.50x3.60 m, depth 1.60 m), 72 m² partially covered terrace adjoining the dwelling.
Baby equipment: cot, changing mat, high chair. Fiber-optic Internet access.

10 of us stayed at LdlS from 2Aug to 16Aug with another 4 of our family staying at another nearby house. Pierre and Sylvie are lovely people and run a bar and restaurant on site so are always available. The building is amazing with huge rooms that easily accommodated 14 of us for activities, meals and barbecues. The restaurant has a terrace with a spectacular view of the chateau and our party of 14 was easily accommodated. Verteuil is a beautiful small town with a number of other good restaurants. The swimming pool is clean and well maintained. Would recommend for a large party.

Nicolas Authentique et accueillant !
La maison est vraiment exceptionnelle par son espace et son histoire. Mais surtout, Sylvie et Pierre sont des hôtes particulièrement généreux et attentifs. Nous avons passé un super séjour et pensons déjà revenir à Verteuil-sur-Charente !

Manon Un voyage dans le temps
Le logis de la Sénéchalerie est un véritable voyage dans le temps. Quelle émotion en découvrant cette splendide demeure de pierres, avec son énorme cheminée, sa table immense et ses bancs ingénieux, sa cuisine de mosaïques, son escalier en colimaçon en pierre, ses immenses chambres, ses fenêtres à coussièges où l'on peut s'asseoir et lire comme les dames de l'époque !
Nous l'avions réservé pour un long weekend entre amis et nous sommes tous tombés sous le charme. En plus du côté historique : le logement garde le frais (idéal par forte chaleur), il y a une piscine avec vue sur le château et le propriétaire est absolument charmant et très arrangeant. Bref, ce fût une parenthèse enchantée !
À noter : le propriétaire possède aussi un restaurant juste au-dessus (magnifique également). À tester pour une soirée et à prendre en compte si vous voulez un logement totalement isolé (même si le propriétaire fait tout pour que nous ne soyons pas dérangés par le bruit ou par des clients). Nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir !
