Venant de la région parisienne, nous avons eu le coup de cœur pour cet ancien domaine viticole du 19ème siècle où nous mettons tout en œuvre pour que vous vous puissiez vous reposer et passer un séjour en toute décontraction. Nous aimons la décoration, les vieilles pierres, parcourir les brocantes, les marchés, et sommes attachés au "consommer local" et aux circuits courts.

A charming self contained private gite with access to a shared swimming pool near the town of Surgeres. This is a pleasant town with a touch of history and some very good restaurants. La Rochelle is a must and best to get there by train from Surgeres. Another must to visit is the Île de Re!

Jerome Belle propriété au calme
Nous avons passé un bon séjour dans ce gîte situé dans une belle propriété au calme, à environ 45 minutes de la mer. L’environnement est paisible et sécurisé, ce qui est particulièrement appréciable avec de jeunes enfants. Un grand merci aux propriétaires, très gentils et toujours disponibles. Une adresse simple, reposante, avec un accueil chaleureux.

babeth belle maison, confortable avec bon accueil
Très bon accueil dans cette belle maison. Bien équipée, très propre, grand espace commun. Les propriétaires sont à l'écoute de leurs hôtes. Il y a même de quoi se faire un repas vite fait si on a pas pu faire de courses. Très calme en campagne. Je recommande la visite de l'église romane de Saint Mard (juste à côté). Nous reviendrons.

Marijke Very pleasant stay with very friendly hosts
La Bergerie is a very charming house to stay. A spaceous home and a very large garden. The garden is fully closed off which is very handy with the two small children we had with us. We really enjoyed the silence. Kitchen is basic but has all the important equipement available. Everything is ground floor. Also clean gas bbq outside. Garden furniture is basic but nice to sit outside. Location is great. Maximum 1 hour drive to the hot spots of the charente maritim. 10 minutes from the supermarket and bakery. 100m from the house is a 'baguette vending machine' for every morning. The swimming area is great and cosy. Sufficient seatings available. Important to know is that the swimming pool was not heated. In the summer not really a problem. Saving the best for last and that were the fantastic hosts. They were super friendly, always available for help or give ideas. Thanks a lot for the wonderfull vacation and the nice bottle of Pineau
