Odonatura

Saint Nicolas des Bois, at the foot of the Forest d'Ecouves on the southern flank of the massif, escapes the morning fog that tends to be localized on the plains of Alençon. The morning sunshine benefits the east-facing rooms and enables the solar water jet in the natural pond to operate, as do the photovoltaic panels and solar water heaters installed on the property since 2007. The pond is home to a rich biodiversity of birds and dragonflies, hence the name "Odonatura". A wink even on your breakfast dishes! The tall trees in the garden are home to woodpeckers whose beaks strike the tree trunks, echoing in the distance. A rarer species, the magnificent Hoopoe, also lives on the edge of the Forest, and can be seen on walks around the accommodation. Wild geese fly across the sky and sometimes spend a few days on a nearby pond.

Set on a 6-hectare property, three air-conditioned bed and breakfast rooms in an outbuilding attached to the owners’ home:
Ground floor: breakfast room with a wood-pellet stove and TV.
Upstairs: “Magic Night” room (160 cm double bed, 90 cm single bed, TV) with an adjoining open-concept bathroom (walk-in shower, sink, and toilet).
A small children’s bed is available free of charge for kids up to age 7.
On the garden level with separate entrances:
- “Une de Mai” bedroom (160 cm double bed, TV) with an adjoining bathroom/toilet.
- “Lady” suite with living room (double sofa bed, refrigerator, microwave, TV) and bathroom with double sinks and toilet. Bedroom upstairs (160 cm double bed, 80 cm single bed).
Welcome trays in every room.
Terrace overlooking an enclosed, tree-lined garden. Unfenced pond with a water feature.
Parking and charging station for electric vehicles (additional fee). Dedicated, uncovered indoor parking for motorcycles.
Animals on the property: chickens and ducks, horses, dwarf goats, and Ouessant sheep.
