Stay less than 3 kilometers from the flower-filled village of Saint Fraimbault, nicknamed the “city of 100,000 flowers,” within the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park and the Poiré Domfront appellation area. Cycling enthusiasts can join the Vélo Francette route and ride to the “Petite Cité de Caractère” of Domfront (17 km), with its stunning Art Deco and Neo-Byzantine-style church and the ruins of its medieval castle. With tips from Christiane and Dominique, set out to discover local producers of poiré, cider, and calvados, not to mention the region’s other gourmet specialties. Among them are the famous cookies from Lonlay-l’Abbaye; you can tour the production facility right at the cookie factory, located just 22 km away.
