In a quiet area of the small town of Conches-en-Ouche, with its beautiful half-timbered houses, shops, leisure facilities and restaurants, the Nirvana gîte promises you a truly relaxing stay! Designed with your comfort in mind, it offers bright, soothing spaces where you'll feel right at home. Light colors, a contemporary mix of contemporary furniture and antique family heirlooms, well-chosen decorative objects... you'll be charmed, especially by the beautiful living room, where you can curl up in the leather sofas, dine around the comfortable dining table, or cook in the fully-equipped kitchen. The room opens onto 2 terraces, one on each side of the house, where you can relax to your heart's content, and extend out into the garden to sunbathe. In fine weather, you'll be drawn to the Piscine, unless you're tempted by a game of pétanque. Philippe will give you a warm welcome and advise you on the attractions of this beautiful region.
Ground floor: the entrance hall leads to the bright, welcoming living room, which opens onto a terrace on either side of the house. Modern, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable dining area and cosy living room with two leather sofas. WC with laundry area (washing machine and tumble dryer). Upstairs, a lovely attic bedroom with TV, 2 single beds (90x200) that can be converted into a large double bed, and an extra bed for Kids (80x190). A second, smaller bedroom on the garden side also features a TV and 2 single beds (90x200) that can be converted into a large double bed. Convenient office space on the landing (good internet connection) and bright bathroom. Reversible air-conditioning in the house. On Philippe's property, the Holiday cottage is adjoining his home and is completely independent: you have a private terrace on either side of the house and your own space in the garden (approx. 50 m²). The Piscine is shared, operational from May to September: 14x4 meters, 1.45m deep, heated to 25°C minimum. Petanque court. Your pets are welcome, with due respect for the small dog on the property.

Louis-Philippe à Melleville
Suite aux agitations de février 1848, qui aboutit à l'abdication du roi Louis-Philippe le 24 février, celui-ci quitta la capitale pour gagner Le Havre d'où il s'embarqua pour l'Angleterre en compagnie de la reine Amélie.
Voyageant dans une berline sous un nom d'emprunt, il dormait à Dreux au soir du 24 février et arrivait en vue d'Evreux le lendemain en début d'après-midi.
Ce dernier connaissait-il l'existence du château de Melleville ? Il fut en tout cas décidé de s'y arrêter.
Le château était inoccupé et monsieur Renard, le fermier qui en assurait la garde, accepta de faire entrer les voyageurs dans sa ferme tandis que son épouse leur prépara de la soupe au lait et une omelette puis leur servit de la confiture et de la compote. Louis-Philippe, doté d'un solide appétit, fit honneur à la table. Monsieur et madame Renard apprenaient avec émotion qu'ils avaient le roi et la reine à leur table.
Le lendemain, à Honfleur déjeunant frugalement dans une auberge, le roi compara son repas à celui de la veille en déclarant " ah monsieur Renard, ce n'est pas l'omelette de Melleville " tandis que la reine Amélie lui offrit l'un de ses bijoux pour le remercier de son aide précieuse.
La tradition rapporte qu'un an plus tard un homme se présenta à la ferme de Melleville et remit un paquet en provenance d'Angleterre contenant une jolie broche avec une carte signée de la reine Amélie.
