Le Catenay

Nestled in the heart of a lovely, peaceful Seine Valley village, with its traditional stone houses, is Le Catenay, a guest house like no other! On a large property, between a cocoon garden and an orchard, in the middle of which flows a stream, the nearly 2-century-old longère watches over this bucolic atmosphere. Laurence has preserved its soul and all its charm, creating a cosy, warm atmosphere around a world of antiques (furniture, decor, linen, crockery) with a soft spot for the Art Deco - Art Nouveau period. When it comes to comfort, you'll be pampered with excellent bedding and well-designed rooms that leave nothing to be desired. You can enjoy gourmet breakfasts by the fire, table d'hôte in the orchard, relaxing to the gentle sound of lapping water, or walking or cycling along the local greenway or GR2. In the Vernon/Giverny-les Andelys-Gaillon triangle, a superb region full of nuggets that your host will be happy to recommend.

On the first floor, the hallway leads to the 2 guest rooms, each with a double bed and a relaxation area: on one side, the "Globe Trotter", inspired by Laurence's travels around the world, with a study area and a beautiful bathroom and separate toilet, and on the other, the "Gatsby" in the Art Nouveau spirit: study area and a large shower room with walk-in shower, double basin unit and toilet; it opens onto a private balcony, very pleasant in fine weather with its furniture and view over the garden. Laurence offers gourmet breakfasts based on homemade preparations and local produce (gluten-free option) and, on request, table d'hôte dinners featuring local produce and organic farming: in the elegant dining room or in the garden.
