This superb bioclimatic architect-designed house with Ecogîte and Panda certification and a very contemporary look sets the tone right from the moment you arrive: step inside and you're immediately in the warm, friendly atmosphere of a place where life is good, where you immediately feel good. Spacious and perfectly designed for a stay with family, friends or a small business group, you'll fall under the spell of this holiday cottage, with its mix of design and modern materials, fifties-inspired vintage furniture, salvaged or antique objects and crockery, in an atmosphere that's Unusual, creative and artistic, with photos and works of art and an original, playful concept. A real sense of Wellbeing emanates from this eco-responsible timber-framed house, which is bright and open onto the garden thanks to generous glazing. You'll feel right at home, with plenty of leisure activities inside and out, an incredible library, DVD library, toys for the little ones and a top-notch kitchen!
An outside staircase leads to the entrance hall with checkroom. Large living room with convivial kitchen around the island, very well equipped with scullery, dining area and cosy sitting room near the stove, with a large library, board games, DVD player (over 100 DVDs), screen, video projector and home cinema for a real cinema experience! Upstairs, multi-purpose landing with lounge, 2 bedrooms (160x200 beds, separable), shower room, bathroom, separate wc. 2nd floor: 2 attic bedrooms separated by a walkway (160x200 beds, separable). J'ai fondé et dirigé durant 30 ans une entreprise d'encadrements d'œuvres d'art pour les musées, les fondations d'art contemporain...
Aujourd'hui, je me suis recentré sur ma petite ville et mes enfants.
Passionné d'architecture, j'ai plaisir à fabriquer des univers dans lesquels, j'espère que mes hôtes se sentiront bien.
La maison relais est une œuvre collective imaginée avec mes enfants et mes amis.
Elle propose une ambiance vintage et haut de gamme, entourée d'un beau jardin de 1 200 m² arboré.

Paul Beautiful house in a wonderful location
Wonderful welcome from Charly who let us sit in the garden while they completed the clean of the house.
Maison Relais provided us with ample accommodation for our family of 7 adults and two children. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful house and garden.
Having a porch on each side is great for cooling.
The kids loved the garden chair swing and the playroom area.
Being from Scotland we struggled a bit with the heat at night, perhaps availability of fans would have offered some relief.
The local Boulangeries offered delicious treats everyday and trips to the pool and nearby river Eure was fun and cooling.
We would love to return.

Thank you very much for your comments.
Indeed, summers are getting hotter in Normandy! I will work on this subject with 3 modifications by next summer.
1- I will plant 10 more trees in the garden this fall. This will create spaces that are about 10 degrees cooler.
2- I will install shutters on the west-facing windows because that is the main cause of the warming at the end of the day.
3- Finally, I will have a chimney built at the top of the house with a fully automated window. This will allow hot air to be evacuated, with fresh air coming from the Canadian well.
So, you can come back to a cool house .

Rich Fabulous accommodation and Host
The host is in my opinion as good as it gets. prior to arriving the communication was excellent and friendly, this continued throughout our stay.
the property is very interesting due to its architectural design, and clever interior decoration. the kitchen had everything we needed to cook for 8 people, and you could all be seated comfortably.the only thing i wish was different was that we could have stayed for much longer to enjoy this wonderful property. however we definitely hope to return soon.

Pierre Magnifique maison
La maison relais est située sur une colline arboisée à distance de marche du très beau château de Gaillon. L'accès est très facile depuis Paris. La maison est très bien décorée, dispose de tout le nécessaire (incl. HIFI, matériel de cuisine) et d'un beau et grand jardin. L'hôte Charly est très sympathique et accueillant, nous recommandons chaudement.

Romain Parfait pour un séjour entre amis ou en famille
Superbe maison très bien équipée, à la fois isolée pour bénéficier du calme, mais sans être trop excentrée afin d'avoir les commodités à pied (800m du centre ville, boulangerie, marché, etc.)
Localisation idéale pour visiter la Haute-Normandie (Giverny, les Andelys, Rouen, Evreux, la Roche-Guyon), ainsi qu'une proximité de plusieurs bases aquatiques ou centres animaliers qui raviront les enfants.
