Dreaming of a real thatched cottage in the heart of the Normandy countryside? Here it is! La chaumière du vieux pressoir is a truly cosy vacation home. Margot has designed it so that your little and big breaks here are real moments of well-being for all: cocooning in the living room, conviviality in the fully-equipped kitchen around the preparation of tasty dishes, plunging into one of the house's libraries, board games or games for children, ... or, for the outdoors, lovely walks along the little paths around here, to the local markets, outdoor games and of course chatting with the ponies or goats next door, depending on the season. The gîte has a lot of character, with its exposed beams and antique furniture, trendy decor and contemporary comforts and equipment. The charming little town of Cormeilles, with its colorful half-timbered houses, is just a stone's throw away.
On the ground floor, a small entrance opens onto the spacious living room, with a cosy lounge on one side and the dining room on the other. The room opens widely onto the ornamental garden and grassland. The well-equipped kitchen with bar and stools also opens onto the garden. Separate toilet with washbasin near the entrance. Upstairs, you'll find 3 bedrooms with sloping ceilings, each with a view over the garden: 2 doubles, one with a 160x200 bed, and the third, with plenty of games and a library, with 2 single beds (90x200) and a crib. Beautiful, bright bathroom with large walk-in shower and separate toilet. The large, enclosed garden of over 5,000 m² is in 2 parts: the front with the parking area, and the rear with the pergola, close to the pasture with the animals.

Annette Lovely house with a great atomsphere
The house was fantastic. It’s tucked away, and when you look out into the garden, you feel completely secluded. There are neighbors on both sides, but we didn’t notice them at all. What’s striking about the location is the peace and quiet — it feels as if you’re all alone, even though a busier D-road is just a short drive away.
The house itself is beautifully decorated and furnished, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. It’s a pity that the fireplace can’t be used, but the temperature was perfect — the hosts clearly care a lot about comfort. The kitchen is very well equipped, with plenty of appliances. There were even some supplies available, which was fantastic. The beds were beautifully made, the rooms were excellent, and the downstairs toilet and upstairs shower were wonderfully spacious. There are games to play, books to browse through, and in spring or summer you can surely enjoy sitting outside and having a great barbecue.
A few tips to make the stay even better than it already was: provide a folder with information about the area — things to do, see, or visit, for example. Beforehand, a document is sent with all the practical details, but for tourists it would also be nice to have some local recommendations for places to visit. Another suggestion concerns the kitchen: make sure the cleaning service checks whether all the appliances are clean and empty. There was still a coffee pod in the Nespresso machine and an old coffee filter in the coffee maker — small details that the cleaners could easily take care of.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay. The hosts are very friendly and approachable (communication via WhatsApp worked great too). We would love to come back, and we definitely recommend this place!

Fgl Séjour Août 2025
La Chaumière dispose de nombreux atouts en termes d'équipements, décoration et de calme notamment.
Globalement l'endroit est calme, en pleine campagne et la route est peu fréquentée. La maison est cosie, avec un joli style de décoration et il y a de quoi occuper les enfants mais aussi les adultes. Il y fait frais, ce qui est vraiment pratique en été.
Il y a eu un soucis - visiblement temporaire - avec une chambre que nous n'avons pas pu utiliser, ce qui explique en grande partie la note globale car nous avions besoin de 3 chambres et que cela a compliqué l'organisation avec les enfants.
Pour les autres points, voici quelques améliorations possibles :
Il faudrait améliorer les matelas qui datent, le ménage (tres bien par endroits et moins dans d'autres), changer ou réparer quelques équipements (tabourets, four par exemple).
Il y a un vis-a-vis non visible dans les photos et non mentionné dans l'annonce, assez important dans l'allée et du côté de l'entrée de la maison et aux fenêtres du couloir de l'étage, et comme il n'y à pas de volets, cela peut être gênant à certaines heures.
Tout l'autre côté est paisible et sans vis-a-vis avec un jardin arboré mais dont la clôture se poursuit en partie avec celle des voisins qui ont des chiens. Il serait mieux de délimiter séparément le jardin afin de garantir un espace plus isolé pour les enfants et les animaux si l'ont vient par exemple avec son chien pour éviter les confrontations au grillage dans l'allée ou sur l'aile du terrain côté cuisine.
Le contact est bon avec Margot qui n'était certes pas présente le jour d'arrivée mais a fait son possible pour nous aider par rapport à nos questionnements et compenser le problème avec la chambre. Cependant privilégiez les appels ou SMS plutôt que les emails en cas de questions pour la contacter.

Nous vous remercions d'avoir pris le temps de partager un retour détaillé sur votre séjour à La Chaumière du Vieux Pressoir.
Nous sommes heureux de lire que vous avez apprécié le calme, la décoration, la fraîcheur de la maison en été ainsi que les nombreux équipements mis à disposition pour les enfants comme pour les adultes.
Concernant vos remarques, nous tenons à apporter quelques précisions :
Une réduction importante avait été appliquée pour votre réservation, précisément afin de prendre en compte le souci exceptionnel rencontré dans l'une des chambres.
La maison est une bâtisse ancienne, rénovée avec soin et authenticité. Elle ne peut donc pas être comparée à une résidence neuve de très haut standing. C'est d'ailleurs ce qui fait partie de son charme, mais aussi ce qu'il faut garder à l'esprit lors du choix d'un hébergement de type gîte.
Le vis-à-vis mentionné n'est perceptible que depuis le couloir reliant les chambres à l'étage, et il est inexistant depuis toutes les autres pièces à vivre ainsi que depuis le jardin arboré.
Nous faisons régulièrement évoluer les équipements et notons vos observations concernant certains points à améliorer.
Une première modification de la clôture a déjà été effectuée et une étude pour une délimitation plus complète du jardin sera prochainement engagée, afin d'offrir un espace encore mieux isolé pour les enfants et les animaux.
Enfin, il est important de rappeler que La Chaumière fait partie des très rares hébergements de ce niveau de confort à accepter les animaux, ce qui impose aussi certaines spécificités, notamment vis-à-vis des clôtures et des abords.
Nous regrettons les désagréments rencontrés, mais sommes ravis que malgré cela vous ayez pu profiter du cadre paisible et du bon accueil.

Ferien July 2025 Geniessen in der Normandie
Das Haus war sauber und die Ankunft gut organisiert. Auch beim Verlassen des Hauses war alles tipptopp organisiert. Obwohl das Haus etwas älter ist, ist es mit moderner Technik ausgestattet und bietet für 6 Personen mit Hund hervorragend Platz. Jederzeit zu empfehlen, wenn man Ruhe und das Landleben sucht.

Christophe perfekte ländliche Unterkunft
Wir haben einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt genossen; man kann sich hier auch gut bei schlechtem Wetter aufhalten. Das Haus hat alles, was man braucht, liegt ruhig und ist sehr sauber. Aussicht ins Grüne auf die Pferdewiese.

Nous avons passé une semaine reposante à la Chaumière du Vieux Pressoir. La maison est vraiment belle et très bien aménagée et decorée. La cuisine est bien eqipée. Il y a toutes les commodités. Le jardin est très beau et calme. Nous avons aussi aimé le restaurant du village!

Maxence Comme à la maison en Normandie
La Chaumière du Vieux Pressoir est idéale pour un séjour en famille avec enfants, elle est parfaitement équipée, aménagée soigneusement, décorée avec goût et cosy à souhait. Le jardin est un bonheur, la région aussi. Margot a été avenante et disponible, nous avons pris un réel plaisir à séjourner dans son logement.
