Dating back to 1787, this thatched wine press has survived the centuries to become a warm and elegant vacation home. It has retained all its character and authenticity thanks to a quality restoration that has highlighted its original materials: beams and half-timbering, terracotta floor tiles, stone walls and bricks are found inside in a "country house" decor with attractive antique furniture.
You'll love the picture-postcard setting: grasslands as far as the eye can see, orchards and cows! In other words, it's a truly peaceful place to stay in the heart of nature, away from it all. From the village, the GR23 takes you to the Marais Vernier, an incredible nature reserve where you can discover the flora and fauna of the marshes. You're also close to Pont Audemer, the little Venice of Normandy, and the seaside with the superb beaches of Deauville, 40 minutes away, or Honfleur, just 30 minutes.
Ground floor: large living room with comfortable lounge in front of the superb decorative fireplace (games and mini library). Next door, the semi-open-plan dining room opens onto the kitchen, which also opens directly onto the garden. A small double bedroom (bed 160x200), shower room and separate toilet. Upstairs: 3 attic bedrooms: 2 with double beds (160x200), one with private bathroom, and the family room with 4 single beds and washbasin. There's also an independent shower room with toilet. You'll enjoy a very large private enclosed garden of 1500 m², with an orchard right next door where you can pick your own grapes. For shopping, you'll find everything in Pont-Audemer, 8 km away, as for your leisure activities: Golf, Piscine, Fishing, Tennis or Cinema.
For longer stays, a second Holiday cottage is located on the same property (ref.1366 for 8 people).

Gros coup de cœur pour Le Bec Hellouin et la route des Chaumières.

Catherine Jolie chaumière rustique au calme à la campagne
Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans cette chaumière qui a été restaurée en respectant son caractère normand et rustique : sol en tomettes, poutres apparentes,meubles en bois foncé,rien à voir avec un intérieur type "ikéa" .Elle est au calme et notre petit-fils a été ravi d'avoir les vaches pour voisines.Les chambres sont indépendantes c'est un plus (et pas en enfilade à l'étage comme dans beaucoup de chaumières).3 salles de bains c'est confortable.Le pré était tondu de frais, nous avons déjeuné dehors souvent.Le propriétaire a acheté un parasol à notre demande. Le salon de jardin est basique, il s'agit d'une table de pique nique qui a vécu et qui ne peut accueillir que 6 personnes à part cela rien à reprocher. Ce n'est pas luxueux mais c'est typique (ce que nous recherchions) et le prix est en conséquence. Nous avons été très satisfaits. Pont-Audemer très proche est une très jolie petite ville de caractère et le marais vernier est un espace naturel qui mérite le détour.La campagne alentour est splendide. Très bon accueil. Possibilité de louer les draps. Je recommande. Il faut aimer la campagne, le grand air, les maisons de caractère...

Kingfisher Disappointed. Needs repairs, updating, cleaning
Nice old looking cottage and surroundigs, but not well maintained, in need of repair/updating and poorly supplied.
- garden unkept, tall grass was cut during our stay without warning, bumpy ground with one pic-nic table and no chairs, no parasol.
- armchair and sofa in lounge old and soiled, TV remote control not working (had to buy some batteries)
- dining room had no chairs, just wably benches. We were told not to touch part of the glassess/dishes as they belonged to the owner!
- doorlock/handle broken to both bathroom, so unable to lock the toilets!
- heating very overpriced, house not properly insulated, gaps next to outside doors and windows, poor quality window double-glazing.
- kitchen tap very difficult to open or turn, coffee maker and kettle badly needed descaling. Light above cooker not working, some saucepans were not always working on induction, not enough soup bowls and bowls for 10 people. Windows not clean, no wahing up liquid or tablet for dishwasher. No dish cover for microwave, salad spinner with no top.
- Price of bedding too high (£14 for one sheet!). one bed was leaning on one side. curtain old, falling apart and not wide enough. No extra blankets. Rodents scurring in loft at night.- Cleanliness

Priscille La Normandie dans tout son charme !
Nous avons passé un excellent weekend en groupe d'amis de 8 personnes, il y avait suffisamment d'espace, les chambres étaient confortables et l'espace extérieur vraiment très ressourçant.
