Treat yourself to a stay in this very special and unusual place: a typically Norman village with all its charm and timber-framed houses, a singing river that runs through it, and in a pedestrian alleyway, a small private bridge that spans it takes you to "Chez Ida". Romain has turned this family home into a veritable cocoon for your well-being: a winter garden on the river side in the veranda, a cosy living room opening onto a second walled courtyard overlooking the wooded heights of Cormeilles, perfect for a quiet siesta in the deckchairs or your meals al fresco; or sit on the river side in the lounge and enjoy the lapping of the Calonne!
In Cormeilles, you'll find great shops, restaurants, a visit to the distillery that produces the famous calvados and plenty of superb walks in the Normandy bocage. Romain knows the region like the back of his hand and will be happy to advise you.

Ground floor: entrance onto the veranda with a small winter garden-style sitting room opening onto the courtyard on the river side. Cosy living room with sitting area, dining area and small, well-equipped kitchen, separated by a bar with stools; the room opens onto the small courtyard at the rear with views of the wooded hillsides. Separate toilet. UPSTAIRS: large double bedroom with 2-person bed and TV, and twin bedroom with 2 single beds. Bright bathroom with toilet. An enclosed courtyard is accessed via a bridge over the Calonne, with a relaxing lounge where you can watch the ducks go by. At the rear, you'll find a second walled courtyard with a lovely wooden terrace, garden furniture and barbecue. There's also a dart board. As the gîte is situated in a pedestrian alleyway, parking is available on the street or in a small parking lot nearby. All around, plenty of hiking trails, including the Tour du Pays d'Auge.
