From the sofa, relax in front of the pellet stove, which offers a pleasant setting with a magnificent view of the rolling Countryside in the background. At dawn, you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of roe deer, hares or even deer from the windows. The tastefully appointed interior is warm and inviting, with exposed beams and stonework and a magnificent bespoke staircase. Visit the Bayeux Market on Saturday mornings or the fish markets in Port en Bessin and Courseulles for the best local produce. And don't forget to visit Bayeux, 15 minutes away, with its cathedral and tapestry. D-Day beaches: Arromanches (30 minutes), Omaha Beach (40 minutes).
