You'll have the chance to stay in a former 16th-18th century mansion, with a 15th century tower, 300 meters from the cathedral, in a quiet neighborhood. The bright living room opens onto the terrace, and is decorated with great care. The Bergamo painting in the 2nd bedroom is reminiscent of 15th-century Norman tapestry. François, the owner, is an enthusiastic history buff, and will be happy to recommend a tour of the town's mansions and the paths along the banks of the River Aure, from which you can discover the medieval town. This was the first town to be liberated in 1944, without fighting or bombing. A 15-minute drive will take you to the coastline: Port-en-Bessin, the D-Day landing beaches.
Holiday cottage adjoining the owner's house. Ground floor: entrance, living room with fitted kitchen, sitting area (sofa, armchairs), 1 double bedroom (2 beds 90cm), shower room, WC. 1st floor reserved for owners. 2nd floor (staircase in tower): 1 bedroom for 2 (1 bed 160x200cm), bathroom with WC adjoining bedroom. Small flower-filled courtyard with garden furniture and deckchairs. Shed with washing machine.

Une fois de plus, nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous dans ce beau logement et nous avons été trés heureux de revoir Francois et Martine. Nous avons appris encore plus sur l'histoire de Bayeux, et nous avons aussi découvert de nouveaux endroits dans les anvirons.

AnseaCirin Merveilleux gîte en plein milieu de Bayeux
Ce gîte plein de charme est bien aménagé, disposant d'une petite cour privative, cuisine équipée, deux chambres très confortables, dans un cadre assez incroyable.
En effet, il est partiellement aménagé dans une ancienne tour des fortifications médiévales de la ville, lui donnant un cachet absolument inimitable. L'endroit est très calme, mais à quelques dizaines de mètres seulement de la rue commerçante principale de Bayeux ; à une centaine de mètres environ de la cathédrale et à peine plus loin du musée de la Tapisserie.
Le propriétaire est très aimable, sympathique et accueillant.
Il faut cependant noter que, en raison de l'aménagement peu commun des lieux, le gîte n'est pas ou très peu accessibles aux personnes en situation de handicap physique.
Egalement, la chambre double est au deuxième étage et ne peut être accédée que par un escalier en colimaçon ancien.- Cleanliness
