Independent gite. Ground floor : kitchen, dining room with lounge (fireplace, sofas), library with sofa, 1 bdrm (1 double bed) with linked shower room, toilets. Upstairs : 3 bdrms each with linked shower room or bathroom (2 double beds, 2 single beds, baby cot). Toilet. Electric heating. Washing machine. Dish washer. TV. Garden with garden furniture. Located in the grounds of the Renaissance Castle, the Maison du Garde is a pretty residence which guarantees you perfect calm in a green setting where the Mue, a small stream that winds through the woods, flows. The very spacious living room is organized around a superb 14th century fireplace and each bedroom has its own private bathroom. You will not miss the visit to the castle and the activities offered during the season. 10 minutes from Courseulles-sur-Mer and the landing beaches.

Belle maison mais poussiéreuse
2/5On a bien été reçu, merci pour cet accueil. Cependant nous étions tous malade en partant. On est arrivé, les pièces étaient très poussiéreuses, des moutons de poussières ont été retrouvés au rez-de-chaussée. À l'étage, nous avons eu des difficultés à respirer en raison de la moquette qui n'était vraiment pas propre.

Merci d'avoir apprécié mon accueil. Je suis très surpris sur vos remarques sur le ménage car je tiens à ce que le gîte soit prêt pour l'arrivée de tous nos hôtes. Je prends en compte votre remarque et vais faire le nécessaire si besoin. Les conséquences de la tempête nous ont surement désorganisés. 4/5location très agréable, spacieuse, fonctionnelle, literie très confortable. Le plus, salle de bain dans chaque chambre, et wc en nombre ! UN manque de rangement dans certaines chambres. Pour 8 personnes, verres et couverts un peu légers en nombre.

3/5The Gite is pretty from the outside and relatively comfortable. The bathrooms are all new and in good condition. upstairs rooms were more pleasant than the downstairs. The downstairs rooms were in need of renovation there is evidence of damp/mould and the paintwork is peeling and in need of a refresh.
the photographs on the website are misleading the downstairs rooms are very dark and the garden smaller than suggested.
The information about the gite said that there was internet access - this is very misleading. There is community free internet access which is only accessible in certain parts of the building is very slow and is not suitable for anyone wanting to work (which I did) or to access streaming services.
I would not have graded this gite at 4 epi I have stayed in much nicer gites at a lower price.
The host was very pleasant and did give us a free tour of his chateau

Dear madam, I take into consideration the unfavorable rating that you gave to the cleanliness of the gîte, but it is true that at the very end of the season, after episodes of unprecedented humidity, with large amounts of water, many wall coverings suffered before the low season allowed the passage of painters or other craftsmen. This will be done between All Saints' Day and Christmas.

5/5Le gîte est très beau et très confortable, le cadre est magnifique et la proximité du château est un vrai bonheur. Nous avons passé d'excellents moments et recommandons vivement cette location.
