The Herils farm (ferme-herils) is a property of over 2 hectares whose first buildings date back to the time of William the Conqueror. The farm is likely to have been a converted castle, which gave its name to a commune that became part of Maisons in 1830. A few features of the former château remain, including a monumental porch, loopholes in the tower of the dwelling, "pigeon lofts" in one of the outbuildings, and a bakery. The gîte is housed in a former barn and has retained all its charm, with exposed beams and stone walls.
