"Le rendez-vous des pêcheurs" is a small house in a very quiet environment close to the Sea. The living room offers a lovely view of the garden. Alain, a native of the region, will be your guide to discover the heritage, the D-Day beaches, the ports of Port-en-Bessin and Grandcamp-Maisy. He will also be happy to advise you on local produce. Hiking and cycling on site.
Semi-detached house adjoining the owners' home. First floor: fitted kitchen with wood-burning stove, living room with sofa, shower room, WC. Attic floor with steep staircase: open-plan bedroom with 160x200 cm bed. Terrace with garden furniture. A 2nd Holiday cottage nearby is available (sleeps 2, no. 3610). Parking available on the property. Wallox 7kw electric vehicle charging available on request. Beds made on arrival. Vehicle available on request from owner.

Bienvenue aux gîtes Chez Marc et Au rendez-vous des Pêcheurs, dans cette magnifique région du Bessin qui propose des paysages et une architecture riches. Les plages du Débarquement sont empreintes d'histoires.
Bayeux, sa cathédrale et sa tapisserie rappellent les liens de la Normandie avec le Royaume Uni et sur la sur Place du Général De Gaulle résonne encore la grande voix des deux discours de Bayeux en 1944 et 1946 près de la première sous Préfecture de France libérée. Mes passions penchent pour l'agriculture et le monde rural, l'Histoire et la généalogie. A bientôt Alain

Les voisins Une tres bonne semaine
Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce gite qui a repondu parfaitement à nos attentes ...
Bien situé tant par son emplacement par raport aux sites liés au débarquement que par sa proximité avec le bord de mer ou la voie verte cyclable.
Pour l'accueil nous avons tres vite apprécié discuter avec le propriétaire.
Pour le gite il dispose quasiment de tout le nécessaire.
Ce gite a plein de charme avec ses vieilles pierres, sa terrasse , son jardin qui offre la vue et le calme.
Si l'occasion se presente nous y reviendrons, nous qui sommes presque voisins- Cleanliness

Tourist in Normandy Tolerable
We were taken by surprise by the fact that the staircase to the bedroom was THAT steep and narrow. People over 40 should not stay in the house. Moreover we must admit that it was more than uncomfortable that a grown up person could not stand upright in the bedroom. Very annoying. As it was relatively cold for the season during our stay, we should have been informed about heating.

I am really sorry to read that you were so disappointed.
It is mentionned in our « Gites de France » advertissement that the stairs are steep and unsuitable for disabled or elder people.
Perhaps you were unable to read it when booking? Or forgot it?
When I restored this historical house, it was decided to keep the walls as high as they were in order to keep the local style that has been much appreciated, even in winter, by most of our guests for 12 years.
That is why the bedroom is low as the insulation (25cm thick) was added INSIDE, in order to make it very confortable even winter.
The heating is easyly available. I would have switched it on, if you just had told me.
However, we hope this did not spoil your holidays and that you where able to discover Normandie in good conditions. -

Astrid Gemütliche Unterkunft nahe der Strände
Wir haben uns in dem gut ausgestatteten Haus sehr wohl gefühlt und vor allem den Kamin sehr genossen. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich und der Austausch mit Alain sehr bewegend. In der Gegend sind sehr viele geschichtsträchtige Orte zu besichtigen und die Strände des D-Day schnell und gut zu erreichen, auch Bayeux mit der beeindruckenden Kathedrale und Caen sind nicht weit. Die Kirche gegenüber ist ein besonderer Ort der Stille.

Propriétaire sympathique et accueillant. Le jardin arboré, le site, le parking et les ballades autour du gîte. Très bien situé pour visiter un maximum sans beaucoup rouler en voiture.Seul bémol, la chambre exiguë.
