Situated just a few minutes from Arromanches, the Amsterdam gîte (named after a Royal Navy hospital ship) is the ideal base for a duo stay in the heart of the D-Day beaches and sites. By following the tourist route or cycling along the vélo-maritime, you can reach Grandcamp-Maisy via the villages and sites that are a must for remembrance tourism (Omaha Beach, the American cemetery at Colleville sur mer, the Pointe du Hoc). For gourmets, Le Bessin is also a gastronomic destination: seafood, cheese and cream, cider and apple juice, and the famous Isigny sur mer ice creams and caramels.
The Holiday cottage is adjoined by another cottage (ref 3425, sleeps 2), located near the owners' home (former farmhouse). On one level, it comprises a 25 m² living room with kitchen area, dining area and sleeping area (1 x 160cm bed), a shower room and separate toilet. Fan assisted. 1000m² garden and shared courtyard with garden furniture and deckchairs. Bike storage. Courtyard with video surveillance. Electric vehicle charging station, at a charge of €0.40/kw.

Brit couple Quiet area
We received a warm welcome from the owner of the gite. It is located in a very quiet
area just a few minutes drive from Arromanches and a short drive to Bayeaux.
It is ideally situated for visits to all the D-Day sites.
Although, only quite small, the gite has everything you need for a short self catering stay.- Cleanliness

Chris&Sally James Charming Gite
We chose this gite as it is well priced and is ideally located for access to the D-Day sites and beaches, as well as local towns. We received an email from Mme Hamel with access instructions early on our arrival day and she met us on her return from work. This is a charming little gite in the grounds of the family home. It is very clean and well maintained and contains everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a very friendly cat and dog, who will come and say hello!
