This fisherman's cottage, tucked away in the middle of the woods, boasts an attractive bell tower and antique woodwork. Set in a clearing opening onto a variety of trees and the sky, it overlooks a small pond (unsecured) which acts as a mirror.
The setting is a true haven of peace, where you're sure to find relaxation and rejuvenation. You'll feel a deep sense of being back in nature. If you're discreet and respectful of the environment, you'll be able to enjoy the evening or morning glimpses of the animals that inhabit it: roe deer, hinds and perhaps a stag, wild boar, wild ducks and geese, dragonflies, butterflies and all the birds of the forest.

South of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse regional nature park, 8km from Rambouillet (hiking and château), 9km from Rochefort en Yvelines golf course.
40min from Château de Versailles and Orly airport. Paris 60 km.

Ground floor: large living room with period fireplaces (working) and cathedral ceiling, flat-screen TV (HDI cable), access to wooden terrace overlooking natural pond and forest. Separate living room with library corner. Narrow, dishwasher-equipped kitchen with direct access to the garden.
Upstairs: 2 warm, independent bedrooms (period woodwork, decorative fireplaces). One bedroom overlooks the pond (3 single beds 90*190), the other overlooks the park (one double bed 160*190). Bathroom (bath, WC, washing machine, washbasin).

    Magique

    Magique. Tout ce que nous recherchions pour déconnecter le temps d'un week-end. Balade dans la forêt, diner entre amis au bord du feu de cheminée, on ne pouvait pas rêver mieux.

    Une parenthèse enchantée dans un gîte exceptionnel

    Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable dans ce gîte niché dans un cadre exceptionnel, au contact des animaux et en pleine nature. À seulement 1h de Paris, le dépaysement est total. Le calme qui règne permet de vraiment se reposer avec des balades accessibles directement depuis le gîte, ce qui était idéal pour nous qui n'avions pas de voiture. La maison est entièrement ouverte sur l'extérieur, ce qui permet de profiter de la vue même lorsque le soleil n'est pas au rendez-vous. En extérieur, des jeux (pétanques, badminton, ping pong) sont mis à disposition. Et petit détail très appréciable, nous n'avons pas croisé un seul moustique ! Notre petit garçon de 2 ans a adoré la forêt, les animaux et la liberté de jouer dehors. Il était méconnaissable tant il s'est amusé et a grandi pendant ce séjour.

    Les hôtes ont été d'une grande gentillesse et ont très largement contribué à la qualité de notre séjour. Merci beaucoup à eux pour le soin qu'ils ont mis à nous accueillir !

    Magnifique maison en pleine forêt

    Le cadre est absolument incroyable: un bois magnifique, au bord d'un étang charmant, et de ce bois, directement, on rejoint la forêt. La maison semble être un chalet du début du XXème siècle, avec beaucoup de boiseries, de grandes fenêtres qui ouvre sur la forêt. Une belle petite cheminée dans la pièce principale. En plus de cette pièce, un salon très confortable et lumineux. La cuisine est petite mais suffisante, la salle de bains aussi. Les chambres, qui sont à l'étage, sont magnifiques et bien meublées.

    A really great retreat.

    We just had a fabulous week in this Gite. Back to nature. Amazing walks in the forest just out side the front door. We saw wild boar and deer in the garden. The house itself is truly amazing - lots of light and character to the house. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. The washing machine was "en panne" but was replaced by another one within 24 hours - how about that for service?
    Would we go back again? In a heart beat!!
