To get to Paris, the Avon-Fontainebleau train station—the largest in the area—is

Cooling Tip: The ground floor of the holiday cottage stays naturally cool. By ventilating during the cooler hours and keeping the shutters and windows closed during the hottest hours, a temperature of 26°C can be maintained. On the first floor, it’s a bit warmer. Similarly, you should ventilate during the cooler hours and keep the windows and shutters closed during the hottest hours. The second floor is under the roof; it’s insulated but can get hot. Each room has a skylight. Both bedrooms are equipped with a fan.
The garden is shaded in the morning, and the table on the garden terrace can be protected from the sun by a large umbrella. The parking area is shaded in the morning.
The Bois-Le-Roi Base de loisirs and the Forest are nearby. Several villages along the Seine offer pleasant walks (Héricy, Samois-Sur-Seine). In Fontainebleau, the Jardin de Diane and the château gardens are great places to cool off in the shade.
