Water-lovers can enjoy canoeing, paddle-boarding or an early-morning swim in a soothing setting. In winter, the resorts of Gérardmer and La Bresse pave the way for ski slopes, snowshoe outings and snow-covered panoramas typical of the Vosges massif. For the more inquisitive, there's the Hohneck and Col de la Schlucht routes, emblematic of the valley. The village and valley of Munster boast a rich heritage: farm inns, mountain chapels, woodworking and textile workshops, not to mention cheese dairies where you can sample munster, bargkass or local tommes.
