A former coal-mining site established in 1862, the Wendel Colliery in Petite-Rosselle, now known as "Parc Explor Wendel", has become a place of leisure and culture for the whole family. It features the Museums Les Mineurs Wendel and la Mine Wendel, cycle paths and footpaths, as well as numerous activities to discover all year round (cultural events, Unusual tours, etc.). The only museum in France to offer 210m² of accommodation at its heart, our 6-bedroom Holiday cottage "Une étape à la Mine" sleeps 16, and is close to major roads and the German border. The World Cultural Heritage site of the Völklinger Hütte is just 10 minutes away, as is Forbach and its medieval Schlossberg castle. Sarreguemines, the city of earthenware par excellence, is only 30 minutes away, and Metz and its tourist attractions 50 minutes. In winter, it's the perfect place to explore and discover the most beautiful Christmas Markets in Moselle.

Push open the door and discover our 24 m² "Esplanade" room, elegant and harmonious in vintage green and gold tones in harmony with the photographic work "L'esplanade de la Mine". This room faces the decanter and the esplanade of the mine with its Vuillemin shaft, providing a singular immersive experience as well as a feeling of calm and serenity. The bathroom, equipped with a whirlpool bath for 2, will enable you to spend a unique moment of relaxation for two. You'll find a top-of-the-range Queen-size bed, flat-screen TV, Tassimo coffee machine and hairdryer. It also has WiFi access, a desk, a safe and a mini-fridge. This room has a separate toilet. Our living space is designed to enable you to spend quality time together: shared fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, billiards table, library. A Zen area equipped with a hydro-massage table is at your disposal. A shared outdoor Wellbeing area equipped with garden furniture, a Piscine and a Spa is available from 01/06 to 30/09. Direct access to the Museums les Mineurs Wendel and la Mine Wendel. We also offer on-site dining at the Mine904 restaurant and the Kaffeeklatsch tea room. The price is all-inclusive and includes continental breakfast at the Kaffeeklatsch, access to the relaxation areas, heating, electricity and end-of-stay cleaning. Special Museums rate: 50% off the regular rate, with check-out before 11am. Arrival after 4 p.m. Pets are unfortunately not allowed. The Holiday cottage "Une Étape à la Mine" is a place for culture, vacations and relaxation, and is not intended to be used as a village hall. As such, the organization or holding of festive or noisy events is forbidden.
