When visiting Château Saint Nicolas, the first thing to do is close your eyes, enjoy the silence, soak up the scent of meadows, hills and fields, space and peace, then open them again. The serenity of this property is palpable. The château was built in 1839 on the outskirts of a Celtic settlement. The first owner was Nicolas Félix Napoléon Dorr, a private banker in Metz and mayor of Montigny lès Metz. The current owners renovated the entire property in keeping with the style, from 2015 to 2025. The Reine Catherine apartment is in the right-hand annex. The château's crypt and chapel, which are open to guests by appointment, provide a special sense of calm. Looking for a peaceful getaway in the heart of nature and a living history? Welcome to Kirschnaumen, home of Château Saint Nicolas. A charming Moselle village nestled at the gateway to the Lorraine Regional Nature Park, just a few kilometers from the German border. We welcome you to our cosy Holiday cottage, ideal for 2 travelers, in an annex of the Château Saint Nicolas, offering a unique, calm and green setting. Nearby attractions include Château de Malbrouck in Manderen, a superb renovated medieval castle that often hosts exhibitions and events. Sierck-les-Bains, a charming town on the banks of the Moselle with its fortified castle and typical narrow streets. Schengen (Luxembourg), a symbol of Europe, with its European Museums and the banks of the Moselle, perfect for a stroll. Montenach nature reserve, with hiking trails through unspoilt countryside and panoramic views over the surrounding valleys. Cattenom and its Lake, ideal for picnics, walks or relaxation. Close to Thionville, Trier (Germany) and Luxembourg City for more urban escapades. Further information on the château: https://www.mittenhoff.eu
