HOLIDAY COTTAGE
The "Refuge du Grand-Tétras" is first and foremost a stopover gîte "designed by hikers for hikers" and itinerant adventurers.
It is located on three of the Vosges traverse itineraries: GR 53 (red rectangle), GR 531 (blue rectangle) and GR 532 (yellow rectangle) and on GR 534 (Kléber-Stanislas), linking Strasbourg to Nancy (red diamond).
It is on the great Sea - Mediterranean route (section Wissembourg - Nyon (Lake Geneva), in the Cicerone guidebook (in English) and on the brand-new "Hexatreck", which follows the French mountains (the "Hexatreck").
which follows the French mountains (l'Hexagone) diagonally from Wissembourg to Hendaye over 3044 km, via the Vosges, Jura, Alps, Cevennes, Causses and Pyrenees, attracting a growing number of great hikers from all over Europe, North America
(Canada + USA); even Australia and New Zealand!
While the majority of visitors are itinerant hikers, both French and foreign, many are also happy to spend several days here, and spread out
all around.
The same applies to mountain bikers.
Just 300m from the TMV (Traversée du Massif Vosgien à VTT), many of them stop off here.
others stay on to discover the infinite variety of signposted itineraries throughout the "Suisse d'Alsace", from the Alsace plain (just outside Strasbourg) to the Vosges peaks of the Schneeberg massif.
Selected since 1997 by the Fédération Française de Cyclo Tourisme (FFCT), many cyclists spend the night here between two Vosges passes, or on discovery tours of Alsace and even France.
GROUP HOLIDAY COTTAGES
The "Refuge du Grand-Tétras" is also used as a group holiday cottage.
In addition to groups or hiking clubs (Vosges clubs or private clubs) who meet here, families, friends and colleagues can enjoy a walk in nature and/or celebrate an event.
