    Erholung pur!

    An Absolute Dream

Truly exceptional in every single small detail. I had the most magnificent stay in December when the place was decorated for Christmas. I felt like I was in a Christmas movie. The hosts went all out to make my stay special, including making me delicious homemade cookies. The place itself was spotlessly clean, updated and beautifully arranged. A perfect mix of authentic/traditional blended with modern conveniences. This was not the kind of guesthouse that’s filled with cheap furnishings – this was the real deal. The town itself is tiny and there isn’t a store/restaurant/bakery so the house serves as your homebase while you explore the region, driving here-and-there (you need a car for sure). The house is laid out over 3 levels – the ground floor is the entry way with a half bath and laundry room, up a very steep staircase is the next floor (2nd floor to Americans, 1st to Europeans) with kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom and the next floor (3rd floor to Americans, 2nd to Europeans) is a loft with two twin beds. I left my big suitcase in the entry way and pulled out my packing cubes to take them up the steep stairs. The kitchen has a mini-fridge, dishwasher, stove, oven, coffee machine and electric kettle along with dishes, cookware, etc and there is an eating area. The living room has a loveseat, a chair and a smart TV so you can connect to your steaming services like Netflix. There are a few portable Bluetooth speakers that I recommend connecting to so you can fill the place with music you like. The wifi worked well for me (including for work video calls). Since I was there in December, it was cold and it takes the place a bit to warm up (radiator heat) but they do have a little space heater you can use to supplement. Bottom line: so long as you’re okay with steep stairs and getting around by car, BOOK THIS PLACE. You won’t regret it.
