Centre de la Randonnée-Grand gîte

Just 20 minutes from Colmar and 45 minutes from Strasbourg, located on the famous Alsace Wine Route in the heart of the charming village of Châtenois, the Hiking Center is the ideal starting point for exploring Alsace’s tourist attractions. Just a few minutes away are Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, the eagle sanctuary, and the Monkey Mountain. The Hiking Center is located on the Grande Randonnée Trail No. 5 and on the Way of St. James.

The Hiking Center is located in the heart of Châtenois and has a large private parking lot. It features 19 dormitories with 2 to 8 beds each, as well as one accessible dormitory with 2 beds, several meeting rooms, and a beautiful shared outdoor area with wooden tables and benches, a multipurpose sports field, a Tennis court, a pétanque court, and a ping-pong table.

On the ground floor:
- a dormitory for people with reduced mobility (2 people) with a private bathroom and accessible restroom
- 2 restrooms in the lobby
- a dining hall for serving meals to guests (minimum of 8 people)—the dining hall kitchen is not available for rent. However, we provide guests with a refrigerator and a microwave for self-service use.

First floor:
- 11 dorms for 4 people each with private bathroom (sink, toilet, and shower)
- 2 dorms for 3 people each with private bathroom (sink, toilet, and shower)

On the second floor:
- 1 dormitory for 3 people with a private bathroom (sink, toilet, and shower)
- 2 dormitories for 5 people with a private bathroom (sink, toilet, and shower)
- 2 dorms for 6 people with private bathroom (sink, toilet, and shower)
- 1 dorm for 8 people with private bathroom (sink, toilet, and shower)

On the third floor:
- 1 meeting room

In the basement:
- 1 meeting room

Bicycles can be stored in a secure room; we provide guests with electric bikes with charging stations for BOSCH batteries.

The Hiking Center also offers half-board, full board, or breakfast-only options. Snacks or picnics can be ordered the day before at the front desk.

Adjacent to the Hiking Center is a bed and breakfast that can accommodate 27 people in 5 dormitories (with bathrooms and toilets in the rooms or on the landing). Equipped with a kitchen containing all necessary utensils, this holiday cottage can be rented on a self-catering basis for greater independence.

The Hiking Center also offers two event rooms that can accommodate either 50 or 150 people. Each room is equipped with a kitchen, refrigerators, tables, and chairs. It is also possible to rent tableware.
