Le Holiday cottage des Marronniers - A comfortable holiday cottage for family and friends
Located in Trouans, in the Aube region, the Holiday cottage des Marronniers welcomes up to 11 guests for family or friends stays, in a calm, natural and friendly atmosphere, in the heart of the Champagne region.
The Holiday cottage is set in a vast, unenclosed plot of land shared with the Holiday cottage du Cerf. It offers a wooded park with fruit trees, bordered by the river La Lhuitrelle (unsecured access), ideal for relaxation and outdoor activities.
On site: pétanque, table tennis, badminton, soccer goal, darts.
Family-friendly: private gaming room with table soccer, kids' corner and board games.
The holiday cottage can be rented on its own or in addition to the Gîte du Cerf (10 people) to accommodate larger groups, while retaining its own separate areas.
The village of Mailly-le-Camp is 5 km away, with all amenities. (Reservations validated very quickly.)

Tourangeaux week end Champenois de Pâques
Avons passé un excellent séjour en famille. Gîte spacieux confortable très bien équipé et propre. Une grande salle commune pour jeux pour tous âges et particulièrement le baby foot pour des parties endiablées. Un bon espace extérieur est disponible ainsi que des dépendances pour diverses activités. Un grand merci aux propriétaires pour leur très bon accueil, leur disponibilité, leur gentillesse et discrétion. Nous recommandons grandement ce gîte.

Daniela sehr nettes Haus in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend
Das Haus ist modern und gut eingerichtet. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet für das, was man im normalen Alltag benötigt. Wir empfehlen, das sogenannte Spielzimmer zusätzlich anzumieten, da ansonsten der Aufenthaltsraum in der Küche unseres Empfindens nach zu ungemütlich und klein ausfällt. In diesem Raum hat die ganze Familie Platz zum Spielen und Beisammensein. Ein bisschen stört, dass dieser Raum zusätzlich gegen Aufpreis gemietet werden muss. Deshalb der Punktabzug beim Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.
Das Grundstück ist herrlich gross an einem Bach und in der hellen Jahreszeit sicherlich eine großartige Sache.Wir hatten einen herzlichen Empfang durch den Eigentümer.
Das Dorf selbst ist sehr klein und es stehen viele Häuser offensichtlich leer. Man benötigt unbedingt ein Auto für den Einkauf im nächsten Dorf (ca. 5 km weit weg). Ausser den beiden Kirchen gibt es im Ort selbst nichts anzuschauen. Es ist eine sehr sehr ruhige Gegend, ideal für Menschen, die keinen Trubel wollen.
Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt im Gîte des Marronniers.

Les Alsaciens Espace et calme
Très bel endroit, spacieux, bien équipé, joliment décoré, très calme, avec un grand parc arboré propice à la détente et une grande salle de jeux/salon pour les jours de pluie ou les soirées.Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et réactifs à la moindre demande. Ce fut un très agréable séjour en famille

Holiday2026 Review
We had a wonderful relaxing stay in Gite des Marronniers. The hosts gave us a warm welcome on arrival and communication with the hosts was excellent.
I stayed with my husband and 3 children aged 13, 16 and 18. The house was spacious for us, we enjoyed the ‘games’ room upstairs and were very glad of the air conditioning upstairs.
On the Sunday afternoon we couldn’t find the remote for the air conditioning but Estelle came over immediately and sorted for us.
I appreciated the little touches like the herbal tea in the games room, the cotton bedding, the towels were fresh and a delicious pot of honey that was left for us.
All the bathrooms are fitted to a high standard and the whole house was very clean.
Downstairs there was everything you needed in the kitchen.
The highlight for us was the large beautiful orchard garden, shared with the adjoining gite. However, for most of our stay we had this to ourselves. There were swings in the garden, outside football net, badminton equipment, and an accessible chalk stream running round the bottom of the garden which kept my two younger kids entertained and cool! I enjoyed several plums from the trees!
There was also a large room on the ground floor at one end of the gite where the kids could play table tennis.
The surrounding area was agricultural and felt very peaceful. My husband and son enjoyed a short trip to the nearby military village, Mailly le Camp, which was bombed in the war.
We also visited Troyes and its indoor food market and medieval buildings.
I wouldn’t hesitate recommending staying here and thank the hosts for making our stay so stress free and enjoyable!- Cleanliness
