French School Holiday Dates for 2023-2024 (NB mainland France is divided into 3 zones : A, B and C).
Zone A covers the following regional educational authorities : Clermont-Ferrand, Besançon, Bordeaux, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon, Poitiers
Zone B covers the following regional educational authorities : Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg
Zone C covers the following regional educational authorities : Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles

Zone A
Does your child go to school in Clermont-Ferrand? Like the regional school districts of Besançon, Bordeaux, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon, Poitiers, you are assigned to Zone A.

Zone B
Does your child go to school in Marseille? In this case you belong to the B zone. This also applies to the regional school districts of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg

Does your child go to school in Toulouse? They belong to the C zone. Here is the calendar of the regional school districts of Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles
Autumn School Holidays
The All Saints holidays will begin 7 weeks after the Back to School period which takes place on September 4, 2024. The children will be on vacation for two weeks from Saturday October 21, 2023 and will resume lessons on Monday November 6, 2023.
Christmas holidays
The 2023 Christmas holidays will begin on Saturday December 23 for the three zones (A, B, C) and the resumption of classes will be on Monday January 8, 2023.
Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall on Mondays, you can enjoy the bridges from December 23 to 25, 2023 or from December 30 to January 1, 2024.

Zone A holidays, from Saturday February 17 to Sunday March 3, 2024 for the academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon, Poitiers
Zone B holidays, from Saturday February 24 to Sunday March 10, 2024 for the academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Normandy, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Strasbourg and Corsica
Zone C holidays, from Saturday February 10 to Sunday February 25, 2024 for the academies of Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles

Easter weekend and Spring holidays
The dates of Spring Break, or commonly referred to as Easter Break, as it is often close to the Easter weekend, differ between holiday zones like Winter Break.
This year Easter Monday will be April 1, 2024, so Easter weekend will be the opportunity to go on a 3-day weekend from March 30 to April 1, 2024!
Zone A holidays, from Saturday April 13 to Sunday April 28, 2024 for the academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon, Poitiers
Zone B holidays, from Saturday April 20 to Sunday May 5, 2024 for the academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Normandy, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Strasbourg
Zone C holidays, from Saturday April 6 to April 21, 2024 for the academies of Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles
For students in Corsica, the holidays will start on April 27 until Sunday May 12, 2024.
Ascension and Pentecost
To take a break in the middle of the 3rd quarter and above all to take advantage of the first fine days, the Ascension and Pentecost bridges are essential! From now on, the Friday following Ascension is a holiday for pupils from kindergarten to high school.
Enjoy the 5 days of the Ascension Bridge from May 8 to 12, 2024 or the 3 days of the Pentecost Bridge from May 18 to 20, 2024!
Summer Holidays
Classes end on Saturday, July 6, 2024 for all academies. Back to School will be in early September 2024.
