Port du Lavandou
Le Lavandou
Le Lavandou is a small town with a modest sea front when compared to its neighbours of Hyères and Cannes, but it has all the charm of the Côte d’Azur. The former fishing village lies at the foot of the Massif des Maures facing the magnificent island of Levant and is a wonderful destination for families. Just a few kilometres away is the little village of Bormes-les-Mimosas, well-known for its delightful historic centre and Fort de Bregançon, the holiday retreat of French Presidents.
Le Lavandou is a world away from the sumptuous resorts of Saint-Tropez and Sainte-Maxime, particularly around the picturesque harbour with its houses tucked away among lush vegetation. Maybe the clanking of halyards against the masts of boats moored in the harbour whets your appetite for nautical adventure, but before you go, have a ride on the big wheel on the quayside for a bird’s eye view of the Bay of Bormes !
