The southern Corrèze region which revolves around several towns, but mainly Brive la Gaillarde.
The Brive area is a countryside destination for a memorable holiday, with a multitude of outdoor activities (swimming, walking, mountain biking, canoeing, etc.) in an idyllic setting of breathtaking scenery and tourist attractions like the Pans de Travassac, Château de Turenne castle and some of the “Loveliest Villages in France”.
The Brive area strikes a perfect balance between town and countryside. Local food is the real star of the area ! You can find it every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Brive market and also in good restaurants in towns where eating well is an essential part of the lifestyle, as is the pleasure of being together around a meal of freshly picked mushrooms or at a local market.
Serenity is a word which comes to mind to characterise the peaceful lifestyle of the Pays de Brive : tranquil, safe and carefree, in harmony with an environment often described as « exceptional » and « fantastic » by its inhabitants.

The area around Brive is lucky enough to have some of the « Loveliest Villages in France » : Collonges la Rouge, Turenne, St Robert, Curemonte and Ségur le Château.
Collonges la Rouge is entirely built of red sandstone and has no less than 25 towers; Curemonte is an unspoilt medieval village with three châteaux (not open to the public) and a bijou of a church (Eglise de la Combe); Turenne is built on the side of a limestone hill crowned by its castle overlooking the beautiful green countryside; Saint Robert has many heritage buildings in its narrow streets including several ‘chateaux’ and a dovecote; Ségur le Château has fine residences with turrets and half-timbered houses dating from its heyday between the 15th and 18th centuries.
