What to do in the area around Barneville Carteret

Barneville Carteret is the departure point for ferries to the Channel Islands. Leave your gite in Barneville to spend the day or several days on Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney or Sark, exploring the beautiful countryside and strolling through the little streets of small shops. A real change of scenery and only a few miles away ! Right next to Barneville Carteret, make sure you go and see Fierville Windmill, the only working windmill in Lower Normandy !
Above Barneville, the headland of Cap du Rozel has superb panoramic views. You can continue along the coast to La Hague and walk along the cliffs. A few kilometres south of Barneville Carteret, explore Portbail and its two churches, paddle around the ‘havre’ (estuary) in a kayak.
