Saint-Anne sur la Grande-Terre
Sainte-Anne is on Grande-Terre, in the middle of the south coast, between Le Gosier and Saint-François.
A popular destination for a holiday with friends, family or a partner, Sainte-Anne is a tourist area ‘par excellence’ thanks to its magnificent beaches and wonderful attractions. Relax and enjoy Créole food beside the sea ! Places of interest include Place Schoelcher, popular with locals for Sunday outings, and mills such as Moulin de French, Moulin de Gissac and Moulin à Vent (windmill) du Helleux.
The craft village on the edge of the village features local products, souvenirs and craftwork. Further inland, visit the Grands-Fonds area with its limestone plateau which has been vertically eroded by rain and rivers.
Eat favourite dishes like lambi (conch) prepared like steak, grilled meat and fish and shellfish specialities like crawfish and ‘ouassous’.
