In the south of Guadeloupe, the small island of Marie-Galante, also known as La Grande Galette because of its circular shape, is the perfect spot for a nature vacation. You can take a boat to the small village of Saint-Louis, surrounded by mangrove swamps, go hiking to discover the island's wild beaches and turquoise lagoons, or take a ride in an oxcart. In the south of the island, at Capesterre-de-Marie-Galante, you can discover pre-Columbian remains, ancient sugar mills and old mills.
