L’Atelier des Lumières
Giant-size projections of masterpiece paintings !
When visiting the capital with a partner, family or friends head for the Atelier des Lumières, a Parisian cultural venue which has become an ‘absolute must see’.
The Atelier des Lumières is the first digital art centre in Paris. It is housed in an old 19th century foundry between Bastille and Nation. After many months of conversion work, the Atelier opened in April 2018. Visitors are totally immersed in the enchanting worlds of great artists like Klimt, Hundertwasser and many others. Get right inside the works of famous artists and experience the sensations they wanted to share in an area covering 3,300m² with walls up to 10m high ! The gigantic, non-stop, immersive, digital exhibitions are created using 140 video projectors and a spatial sound system !
This amazing digital sound and light show was created using the same AMIEX® method as at Carrières des Lumières in Baux-en-Provence. It consists of 2 spaces : the hall and the studio. The hall features a cycle of immersive digital exhibitions alternating between a long programme, devoted to great figures from the history of art, and a short, more contemporary programme. In the studio visitors can discover established and up and coming, talented artists.
