Gîte "Les Fichus"

Réjane and Bertrand welcome you to this large old building on the banks of the canal between Montargis and Briare. You'll find the 30m2 gîte "Les Fichus" in the former stables, to the right of the old building, near the parking lot. The single-storey gîte comprises a large living room with a 140x190 cm permanent bed, a separate kitchen and a shower room with toilet. This highly functional studio will appeal to couples and staff on business trips (Belleville or Dampierre) who are looking for peace and quiet and love nature. Its terrace is perfect for outdoor meals. Formerly a post office relay, then a hotel, this two-hundred-year-old house stands elegantly a hundred meters from the Briare Canal, in a green, wooded and relaxing setting where exceptional flora and fauna cohabit. Just a stone's throw away, discover the Chaloy lock, the weir where ducks and moorhens come to splash about. Just 1km from the gîte, you'll be enchanted by the elegant Gazonne lock. As you stroll along the canal towpath, you'll come across these majestic barges, manned by courteous bargemen who are quick to greet you with a friendly wave. Relax on the banks of the Chesnoy, Gazonne or Fichus ponds, fishing, reading or simply dozing on your deckchair... Just 100m from the gite is the Scandibérique cycle route, which takes you safely along the Canal de Briare to the Loire à vélo route at Briare.

A laundry room is accessible from outside, with 3 washing machines and 2 dryers (shared with the other gîtes on site).

A fishing paradise, gîte labelled "Hébergement Pêche" (50m from the canal, 100m from the ponds, fishing tackle room, equipment loan and fridge for bait storage). Right on the doorstep of the gîte, in the Chaloy pond, your friends the carp are waiting for you... Do you fish for trout? If so... Opposite the gîte, in the étang des Fichus. If you're after pike or zander, try the Chesnoy pond or the Gazonne pond (fishing licence required).
