Welcome to Saint-Lactencin, in the heart of Berry, in the Indre Valley. The Château de la Brosse Holiday cottage invites you to savor the authentic charm of the Indre countryside, with its heritage, nature and gentle way of life. Just a few minutes from Châteauroux and the Indre valley, you'll enjoy a peaceful environment where you can recharge your batteries. Hiking enthusiasts will appreciate the many hiking and cycling trails that criss-cross the Countryside. The landscape alternates between meadows, rivers and typical villages. The Val de l'Indre has a rich historical heritage, castles, farmers' markets and a traditional way of life. Nearby, discover the Brenne Regional Nature Park, a paradise for nature lovers and birdwatchers, explore the cultural riches of the Berry region, or enjoy a spot of sport at the Golf du Val de l'Indre, just a short drive away. The Holiday cottage is part of the Domaine du Château de La Brosse (private), listed on the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques with several buildings including the Château de la Brosse (17th century) and outbuildings including a house we've converted into a modern, peaceful, fully-equipped holiday cottage with access to the Château's park, Piscine and Tennis court. Whether you're looking for a cosy fireside chat, outdoor activities or a quiet stay in an authentic setting, this is the ideal base for discovering the Indre region and its treasures. The house has 5 bedrooms, including 4 with double beds and one for Kids with 2 Bunk beds. The TV lounge also has a double sofa bed, if required. Cotton sateen sheets, comforters and towels are provided. A gas BBQ is available on the estate. Fiber wifi is freely available. Orange channels make some international channels in English

In the grounds of the Château, a hundred meters from the Holiday cottage, a tennis court, a 12m x 6m heated swimming pool open from May to late September (weather permitting), depth from 1.1m to 2.2m. Pool-house with sanitary facilities, kitchen.

The Centre Val de Loire region offers a wealth of cultural and sporting activities for the whole family.
The train from Paris is 2 hours from Châteauroux, the nearest major city.
From Paris, you can also travel via Tours.
For travelers from London, there are direct flights to Tours, Poitiers or Limoges.

CULTURE
The estate is located at the entrance to the Brenne regional park, 30 minutes from Château de Valençay, Château de Bouges or Cité Royale de Loches, Château d'Azay le Rideau and 1h15 from Tours, 1h from the main Châteaux of the Loire (Chenonceau, Amboise, Le Clos Lucé etc).
The City of Tours, with its magnificent, lively historic center, is 1 hour away.
The city center of Châteauroux is 25 minutes away, and very lively on Market days.
Animal parks are close by: 1 hour from Beauval Zoo or 1/2 hour from the Haute Touche animal park.
During the summer, many festivals are organized in the region around classical music, voice, electronic music, dance, etc.
The Domaine de George Sand is 45 minutes away.
Numerous villages classified as "France's most beautiful villages" can be visited in the surrounding area: St Benoît du Sault, Gargilles-Dampierre, Angles sur l'Anglin, Argenton sur Creuse etc.
There are some fascinating Museums in Châteauroux, including the Musée Bertrand and the Musée Archéologique d'Argenton sur Creuse.
There are also a number of antique and second-hand shops in the region if you're looking for a bargain.

SPORT
The 18-hole Golf du Val de l'Indre is just 15 minutes from the château.
There are rivers for canoeing and kayaking in the val de Creuse or the Indre, the Gartempe and so on.
Bicycles are available for Hiking in the Countryside or the Brenne Regional Park, or for exploring the trails of the Indre Valley.
There's a riding school just 5 minutes from the Domaine.

GASTRONOMY
If you're looking for a good meal, there are plenty of restaurants in the area, whether in the City of St Lactencin (O'St Lake, 5 minutes away) or in Buzançais (L'Hermitage, Pérégrinations, La crêperie des petits tabliers, 5 minutes away).
25 minutes away, in the village of St Valentin, you'll find an excellent Michelin-starred restaurant run by a Japanese chef (Au 14 Février).
Shops are just 5 minutes away.
There are many local farmers' markets in the vicinity.
