Candes-Saint-Martin: Situated at the confluence of the Loire and Vienne rivers, on the banks of the river and a Unesco World Heritage site, as is the entire commune. This family home is within easy reach of many of the Loire châteaux, Montsoreau and the Abbaye de Fontevraud, now both cited as France's most beautiful villages. The latter boasts a Museum of Contemporary Art (with quality exhibitions every year). The Loire à Vélos cycle route is just outside the garden, and new local loops have been created (e.g. to Chinon, Richelieu, ST Nicolas de Bourgueil, etc.). In summer, this pretty mansion keeps its cool with its tuffeau walls and typical Touraine slate roof. Various leisure activities, including Piscine, Spa, accro branches (30 minutes from the Holiday cottage) and Center Parc (45 minutes). Holiday cottage next to a house rented year-round.

The façade, with its mullioned windows and pilasters, evokes the religious history of the village of Candes St Martin, linked to Saint Martin and the bishopric of Tours in the Middle Ages. At the confluence of the Loire and Vienne rivers, this pretty village nestles at the foot of a hill. Its slender collegiate church overlooks a number of longères, which open onto alleyways, offering the opportunity to walk along vineyards, through ramparts, to the banks and coves of the Vienne and discover the river's inland waterways and flora. From this privileged location, there's immediate access to La Loire à vélos, or for an enchanting ride on the Loire aboard traditional wooden boats, the Toues.
