On the ocean side, let yourself be tempted by a day's hiking and swimming on the islands of Houat or Hoedic, or by the great beaches of the Quiberon peninsula. Auray, with its pretty port of St Goustan and artists' studios, is 10 minutes away for a day's shopping. Vannes and its ramparts are 25 minutes away.
