Les Farfadets

If you want to spend a few days in a cool environment, Les Farfadets offers you this opportunity thanks to its natural air-conditioning produced by the installation of a puits canadien (Canadian well). (You'll love our comfortable ECO-GÎTE, with its orchard and large stone walls. We're located in the hamlet of Val Sainte Marie, 15 minutes from Vézelay and close to the caves of Arcy sur Cure. In our Holiday cottage you'll find peace and quiet, Countryside charm, authenticity and all the comforts to make your stay a pleasant one. The house has been renovated in keeping with the spirit of the old stones, but with today's technology. The materials used respect the environment (hemp insulation, ecological paints, puits canadien for double-flow ventilation, heat pump, terrace in Morvan Douglas fir...), and all have a low carbon impact due to their local origin.

The Holiday cottage has a capacity of 4 people, but is ideal for 2 people or 1 couple with 2 Kids. Its atypical layout also means that ½ levels are linked by stairs, making it difficult for disabled people to access. You enter the kitchen/dining area; on the mezzanine you have access to the library/recreation area. A staircase leads to the sleeping area and sanitary facilities. No wifi. 750m² of land adjoining the Holiday cottage is at your disposal. It comprises a large terrace around the house, with garden furniture under a pergola, adjoining an herb garden, an orchard and a vegetable garden. In an old barn, we've created a relaxation area called "Les Hirondelles", where you'll find garden furniture and recliners. There's also a Maillard fireplace and a cordwood wall. Bikes can be stored in the lockable garage. For electric vehicles, there's a quick-access terminal in the village near the "Au Panier Bourguignon" shop. In the village you'll find: Chez Cathy, a bakery and grocery store, closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. CHEZ LA MERE LELEU, an association café run by volunteers. Open Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In summer, a small restaurant is available (aperitif platters). 2 steps from the Holiday cottage, visit the Arcy caves https://www.grottes-arcy.net No long-term rentals. No overcapacity (max. 2 adults, 2 Kids) bed linen, end-of-stay cleaning, heating and electricity included.
